If you aren’t a “Twilight” fan, it was probably sickening to watch the favoritism toward the franchise paraded at the show last night. Twilight won nearly half the categories (FIVE out of 12), including obvious wrongs like Best Movie (over Inception, Black Swan, The Social Network & Harry Potter) and Best Female (Natalie Portman?!).

Nicole Richie. This dress really overwhelms her frame. The revealing backside is the more attractive part of the dress.
Tina Fey. Pretty glammed up isn’t she? The slim one shoulder is a popular feature and it looks good on her.
Carrie Mulligan: The dress has a rocker feel to it, which goes well with her short hair. The bottom is kind of confusing though.
Faith Hill. It’s sexy for lingerie but, eh, the Oscar?
Kristen Stewart. She looks strangely feminine & red-carpet-appropriate.
Mariska Hargitay. These two dresses look quite similar to me, but Mariska looks good.

Mariah Carey. I like the sweat heart neckline on dresses in general but it makes her look unproportionate. She is much bigger at the chest area and needs a more dramatic skirt bottom to balance it out.
Meryl Streep, looking absolutely sophisticated and glowing. She pretty much lives up to her The Devil wears Prada character, fashion guru Miranda Priestly.
Vera Farmiga. I love magenta but this dress is too Lady Gaga for anyone other than herself.
Maggie Gyllenhaal. The bold tropical print really spices up the red carpet.
Rachel McAdams. The silhouette is out of this world. It’s a perfect spring piece but the common opinion is that it’s too muted for the Oscar.
